Questions Regarding the PS Vita

Okay. I was just curious about a couple of things such as:

    1. Do you think the PS Vita will be hacked within weeks or months? Or do you think it will never be hacked?

    2. Do you think there will be a Quake 3 Arena port?

    3. How much ram is there in it? I've heard there's either 256 or 512 mb but which one?

If you can answer these. it would be greatly appreciated!

    1. Sony will probably have it locked down pretty tight and have learned from their previous mistakes, but a real estimate can't really be given, it all depends on the time and dedication the hackers are putting into hacking it. Even still it may take a little luck before they get a lead.

    2. Probably, almost anything open source is ported by someone to a new platform is the platform is popular enough.

    3. It started at 512MB, the rumor was that it was cut down to 256MB and after some digging, most sources say the RAM cut is false. So i would assume that the Vita will have 512MB of RAM.

Hopefully, it can be hacked within a week by the time it releases to the U.S. Also, I'm crossing my fingers on quake 3 getting ported!

Either way 256/512 is really shitty, especially for a gaming device. Pity.

What? I think that 256 or 512 is at least somewhat decent, seeing how the first one only had 32, think of what it could be like in two years!!! Technology doubles every two years, at least that's what I've heard... Edit: The Xbox 360 has 512 mb of ram as well.

Yes a console that came out 5 years ago has a similar amount of ram at a higher clock rate. My cellphone has 1.5gb, and even that is shitty. My desktop has 16gb of ram.

You don't build a console with 5 year old technology, if you do, you're not trying to make a quality product.

At any rate, the xBox has 512mb of pure dedicated GDDR3 RAM which is low considering my video card has 2gb of GDDR5. The PS Vita has 128mb of GDDR RAM.

Ah okay. I got the types of ram confused.

Yes it has a 128mb video card but the video card cpu is 800mhz... So count it
